Fall 2020 Tools & Technologies:
This information is on the syllabus, though I want to reiterate here each of the technologies we'll use this semester.
Website:
All course information, materials, and instructions can be accessed through this ENGL 1001 website. The website will have the most up-to-date and accurate information.
Access homepage: https://lbriggette.wixsite.com/ENGL1001Fall2020
[I will not be using Blackboard except to share course information at
the very start of the semester.]
Fairfield University Email:
I’ll be using Fairfield’s email system if I need to contact you. I know email is probably not your preferred digital space for communicating; however, important information from the University will come through via email, and it’s crucial that you are checking your email on a daily basis.

Portfolio will be submitted via email as PDF attachments or URLs to: ENGLAssignments.Briggette@gmail.com.
Google Drive:
All course materials and documents will housed in a Google folder. It’s linked on our website as well as here. The primary folder with all materials and subfolders is labeled “ENGL1001/Fall2020.” Click the link and be sure to add it to your own Google drive or bookmark the URL. Everyone has access to this folder as well as subfolders for the course.
Zoom:
Most Tuesday class meetings will occur via Zoom. On some of those days, we’ll meet as half the class so as to work in a smaller, more intimate group setting. Announcements of plans and/or changes will always be on our website or on email ahead of time!
Quip:
Each week you’ll engage in online discussions with your classmates using Quip, a program you have access to as a Fairfield student. Part of the week will be for full class discussion related to our weekly close readings (which take place on Fridays), and part of the week will be for discussions of readings with your Reading Group members only (see below for details).
